Job Title: Adjunct-Swift Programming Instructor (Part-Time)

 GENERAL SUMMARY: Part-time Instructor to teach individuals in Algoa Correctional Center located in Jefferson City, Missouri.  Individual will be responsible for teaching Apple Swift programming in a face-to-face and hybrid format.  Teaching assignments will be made in collaboration with the Office of the Provost.

This position is a project-oriented instructional position with a goal of outcomes-based objectives and certification in App Development with Swift. 

 PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan and deliver learning experiences for students to make maximum use of class and lab time.

  1. Complete assigned teaching load both using Canvas (Lantern) and from inside the correctional facility.
  2. Deliver classroom lectures using effective, evidence-based teaching strategies by facilitating student learning through interactive activities, assignments, projects, discussion, and other activities as appropriate for the course.
  3. Evaluate student performance. Evaluation of student performance in classroom includes evaluation of assignments and projects, and returning these to students in timely fashion.
  4. Identify students requiring academic intervention and refer to appropriate support services
  5. Perform other duties as assigned.

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree with Swift App certifications preferred
  • Swift App Certification preferred
  • Teaching experience preferred
  • Experience with Certiport Exam delivery, proctoring, and the certification process preferred.
